Specialized Services:

Welcome to the Omaha Therapy Specialized Services page, where you'll find a unique overview of each specific treatment we, at the Clark Chiropractic Omaha Therapy Clinic, offer. Because the training and interests of each doctor of chiropractic is different, it's important to begin your search for treatment in the right place: the Clark Chiropractic Omaha Therapy Clinic.

Here, on our Specialized Services page, you'll a wealth of information, including — and especially — resources about "Nutrition Omaha," our unofficial effort to supplement our Omaha chiropractic therapy services and provide Nutrition Omaha materials to the greater Omaha therapy-seeking area. Excellent chiropractic care includes spinal adjustments, but also the incorporation of other, less-obvious "adjustments," as well. These "adjustments" usually include the incorporation of healthy lifestyle practices — practices we dub "Nutrition Omaha." With simple changes through Nutrition Omaha, you'll improve the quality of your short-term health, and "pay it forward," too, ensuring that you'll continue to enjoy good health for years to come.

Nutrition Omaha and Dr. Jeffrey Clark DC seek to bridge the gap between Omaha Therapy hands-on adjustments and the more subtle lifestyle changes (those suggested through Nutrition Omaha), which we consider equally valuable recovery. Providing patients with the skills to proactively use Nutrition Omaha will ensure that the chiropractic Omaha therapy-seekers will also understand the "scope" of their treatment goals, and how to work toward them under the proper chiropractic supervision.

Because we believe in the long-term promotion of Nutrition Omaha, we've taken the time to highlight, here, each of the services and/or treatments our medical office specializes in. Our impeccable standard of chiropractic practice is the direct result of this attention to detail, and we're genuinely proud to share our Nutrition Omaha information with greater Omaha population. That said, we're confident that you'll find our Specialized Services page to be both comprehensive and reliable. As always, should you have any additional questions about our Specialized Services or Nutrition Omaha in general, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information. Our Omaha Therapy associates would love to hear from you, our valued patient, especially if you have feedback that may better enable us to meet your chiropractic needs. So don't be shy! Pick up the phone and call your Omaha therapy providers today. We look forward to serving you, and Omaha therapy-seekers in general, to the best of our ability.

Activator Methods

Every outside force that intrudes upon the body, even one administered by a doctor of chiropractic, has a profound effect on surrounding tissues. Proximal muscles, in an effort to defend the area intruded upon, contract. The Activator (a small, handheld instrument) is a craftily designed tool used to administer a controlled thrust — without unnecessary strain to the patient. This thrust is faster than the body's natural reflexes, leaving the patient unable to resist the adjustment itself. Activator Methods, because of their non-invasiveness and accuracy, are suitable for use with patients — from infants to pregnant women to senior citizens. Read more about Omaha Activator Method

Diversified Technique

The most commonly utilized chiropractic treatment is what is known as the diversified technique (DT). This treatment is characterized by a high velocity, low amplitude thrust. Although currently considered the most "generic" chiropractic manipulation technique, it can be distinguished from other treatments in that its goal is to restore spinal movement and correct the alignment of the spine. The diversified technique commonly results in the "popping" sound associated with a visit to the chiropractor's. In recent years, the diversified technique has expanded to accommodate extremity joints, as well, making this treatment applicable for sports injuries. Read more about Omaha Diversified Technique

Gonstead Technique

Clarence S. Gonstead, a resident of a small farming community, during the 1960s, in Wisconsin, pioneered a chiropractic treatment now known as the Gonstead Technique. Earlier in life, when his own health was suffering due to a crippling bout of rheumatoid arthritis, he sought medical treatment from a chiropractor. Miraculously, he was cured. Following his full recovery, he became a chiropractor. Read more about Omaha Gonstead

Electric Muscle Stimulation

Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) is often also referred to as neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) or electromyostimulation. This therapeutic technique is widely used in the medical community; its intent use is to elicit muscle contraction by use of electrical impulses. This stimulation, in turn, mimics the action potential of the Central Nervous System, causing specific muscles to contract. When muscles are underdeveloped — through atrophy, after injury, from prolonged misuse, etcetera — EMS can be effectively used to complement physical therapy and/or sports training. Extremity Adjusting

"Extremities" are the joints of the human body besides the joints found in the spine—the toes, foot, ankle, knee, hip, fingers, hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, ribs, and jaw. Some doctors of chiropractic simply adjust the spine, while others go as far as to adjust the extremities, as well. Why is this? Because chiropractors generally focus on the spine for subluxations and joint impropriety, it follows that extremities — by direct implication — can also be affected. In turn, improperly functioning extremities can also trigger chronic spinal problems. Read more about Omaha Extremity Adjusting

Laser Therapy

What is laser therapy? Or rather, first, what is a laser? "Light amplification of stimulated emission of radiation" is what's known, today, as a "laser" beam. A laser beam travels in one direction only, and is monochromatic its photons. These photons, identical in size, travel equidistantly. Lower-level laser therapy (LLLT) has been used to cut, cauterize and destroy tissue; similarly, these lasers, at lower powers, can alter cellular function in a nonthermal, constructive way. LLLT has been compared with ultrasound therapy, and may be used as an accompaniment to physiotherapy applications that currently utilize parts of the electromagnetic spectrum, such as shortwaves, infrared, and ultraviolet therapy. On-Site X-Ray

We're pleased to offer on-site X-rays, which will assist and expedite the healing process, as well as allow the doctor to obtain up-to-the-minute information and technology regarding a patient's current condition. Because it's important for chiropractors to examine a patient's spine thoroughly, looking for clues from the inside, outside, and based upon the patient's oral account of their symptoms, the X-ray is here to provide that specificity. Because X-rays can accurately identify bone structuring, it's natural for a chiropractor to regularly utilize this technology. The pathology of the skeletal system is visible via the X-ray, as are certain diseases in the soft tissue. As always, pregnant patients must exercise extreme caution when encountering X-rays, and should always benefits of the investigation (X-ray) should be balanced with the potential hazards to inform the doctor or technician if they are pregnant, or could, conceivably, be pregnant.
